What is Ayurveda and its impact on modern times? Ayurveda is the oldest form of medical practice for more than 5,000 years. The principles of the Ayurvedic practice links to two main words; Ayu and Veda. To put it simply, Ayu means life or life force, and Veda means the knowledge, way, or science.
